Cookie Policy
Last updated: 3 May 2026
This Cookie Policy explains what cookies and similar technologies the UK Assistance Dog Registry Directory uses, what they do, and how you can control them. It works alongside our Privacy Policy.
1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They are widely used to make sites work, or work more efficiently, and to provide information to site owners.
2. How we use cookies
We use a deliberately small number of cookies. We split them into three groups:
Strictly necessary (always on)
| Name | Purpose | Lifetime |
|---|---|---|
| XSRF-TOKEN | Cross-site request forgery protection (security). | Session |
| laravel_session | Maintains your session and login state. | Session |
| __cf_bm | Cloudflare bot management (security & performance). | 30 mins |
| adr_cookie_consent_v1 | Stores your cookie preferences so we don't ask again. | 12 months |
These cookies are required for the Directory to function. Disabling them would break login, security, or basic operation. Under UK PECR / GDPR, strictly-necessary cookies do not require consent.
Analytics (consent required)
If you click Accept all or enable Analytics in our cookie banner, we may use analytics tools to understand how visitors use the Directory and to improve it. These tools may set their own cookies.
As of the "Last updated" date above, no analytics provider is actively running. When we add one (e.g. Plausible, Fathom, or Google Analytics 4), we will update this policy.
Marketing (consent required, not currently used)
Reserved for future opt-in features such as retargeting. None are running today.
3. Third-party cookies
Some pages may include content from third parties (e.g. embedded maps, social previews). These providers may set their own cookies, which we do not control. We will document any such providers here as they are added.
4. Managing your preferences
You can change your choices at any time:
- Click the Cookie settings link in our footer.
- Clear cookies in your browser to be re-prompted on next visit.
- Configure your browser to block or limit cookies (note: blocking strictly-necessary cookies will break the Directory).
5. Do Not Track
We honour the "Do Not Track" (DNT) browser signal where it is set: we will not enable analytics or marketing cookies for visitors with DNT on, regardless of cookie banner choice.
6. Changes to this policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. Significant changes will be announced and the "Last updated" date refreshed.
