Terms & Conditions

Last updated: 3 May 2026

These terms govern your use of directory.assistancedogregistry.co.uk (the "Directory"), operated by NS Design trading as Assistance Dog Registry ("we", "us", "our").

By using the Directory you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Directory.

1. The service

The Directory is a free-to-browse directory of UK pet-care businesses (dog trainers, vets, groomers, dog walkers and similar). We facilitate discovery; we are not a party to any transaction or relationship between users and listed businesses.

2. No fees for listings

Basic listings are free for both users searching the Directory and businesses being listed. We do not charge per lead, per click, or per claim. Optional paid features (e.g. featured-pro newsletter spotlights) may be offered separately and are governed by their own terms at point of purchase.

3. Claiming a listing

If you are the owner or authorised representative of a listed business, you may claim the listing free of charge. By claiming, you confirm that:

  • You are authorised to act for the business
  • The information you provide is accurate
  • You agree to keep your listing reasonably up to date
  • You will respond to genuine enquiries professionally

We may suspend or revoke a claimed listing if it is found to violate these terms or applicable law.

4. Acceptable use

You must not:

  • Submit false, misleading, or fraudulent information
  • Claim a listing for a business you do not own or represent
  • Use the Directory to harass, defame, or harm any individual or business
  • Scrape, copy, or otherwise extract data from the Directory at scale without our written permission
  • Use the Directory for any unlawful purpose
  • Interfere with the security or operation of the Directory
5. Content responsibility

If you claim a listing, you are responsible for the accuracy of all information on it. We may remove listings that contain illegal content, misrepresentation, or other content that violates these terms or applicable law.

Pre-claim listings are compiled from publicly-available sources and may contain inaccuracies. To request correction or removal, email [email protected].

6. Reviews

Reviews on the Directory must reflect a genuine experience with the listed business. We may remove reviews that are false, defamatory, abusive, or violate the Competition and Markets Authority's consumer protection guidance on online reviews. Listed businesses may not pay for, induce, or write reviews about themselves.

7. ADR-Verified Partner badge

The "ADR-Verified Partner" badge indicates that a business has confirmed it welcomes registered Assistance Dog Registry handlers and respects the rights of assistance-dog handlers under the Equality Act 2010. The badge is not a clinical, behavioural, or insurance endorsement, and we do not formally audit business operations beyond confirming the self-declaration.

8. Intellectual property

The Directory's name, logo, design, code, and editorial content are owned by NS Design. You may link to the Directory and quote up to 100 words for review/discussion purposes. You may not reproduce substantial portions without our written permission.

By submitting content (photos, descriptions, reviews) to the Directory, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to display, distribute, and adapt that content for the purpose of operating the Directory.

9. Disclaimer of warranties

The Directory is provided "as is". We do not guarantee that information about any specific business is accurate, complete, or current. You are responsible for your own due diligence before engaging any service. We are not liable for the conduct, services, or quality of any listed business.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by UK law, we exclude liability for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses arising from your use of the Directory. Our total aggregate liability to you in any 12-month period shall not exceed £100, except where excluded liability is prohibited by law (e.g. for death, personal injury, or fraud).

11. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Directory at any time, with or without notice, if you breach these terms or if we believe your conduct harms other users or the Directory.

12. Governing law and jurisdiction

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. Any dispute is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales, except that consumers retain the right to bring proceedings in their home jurisdiction where required by law.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms occasionally. The "Last updated" date at the top will change. Continued use of the Directory after a change constitutes acceptance.
